Working

How does the crusher work?

Mobile crushing plants are versatile and highly efficient machines used in the mining and aggregate industries. They are designed to crush various materials, making them suitable for use in different locations due to their mobility. Here's a detailed overview of how a mobile crushing plant with a jaw crusher, cone crusher, and VSI crusher operates:

Feed Hopper

The plant is fitted with a 15 M³ capacity hopper. Raw materials are fed into this hopper, which directs the material onto the vibrating grizzly feeder. The feeder distributes the material evenly over the length of the crusher.

Vibrating Grizzly Feeder

The vibrating grizzly feeder is equipped with a screen that removes fine particles before they reach the jaw crusher. This process helps prevent overloading and enhances efficiency.

Jaw Crusher

Jaw crushers are commonly used to crush materials by compressing them between a fixed and a moving jaw. The plant features a single toggle jaw crusher.

Jaw Crusher Components
  • Movable Jaw: Attached to a swinging lever connected to an eccentric shaft. This shaft rotates, causing the movable jaw to move, which crushes the material.

  • Fixed Jaw: Stationary and provides a surface against which the material is crushed.

  • Toggle Plate: Helps transmit power and protect the crusher from overload. It also adjusts the size of the discharge opening.

Crushing Process
  • Eccentric Shaft Rotation: The moving jaw moves up and down, creating a squeezing motion.

  • Material Crushing: Material is crushed between the two jaws as the space between them narrows.

  • Discharge: Crushed material is discharged through the bottom of the crusher, either into a bin or onto a conveyor belt.

Cone Crusher

Cone crushers are used to further reduce the size of the material after it has been processed by the jaw crusher.

Cone Crusher Components
  • Mantle: The moving part that crushes the material.

  • Concave: The stationary part that provides a surface for the material to be crushed against.

  • Eccentric Mechanism: Creates a gyrating motion, causing the mantle to move.

Crushing Process
  • Feed: Crushed material from the jaw crusher is fed into the cone crusher.

  • Gyration: The mantle moves in a gyrating motion, crushing the material against the concave.

  • Discharge: Smaller, crushed material is discharged from the bottom of the cone crusher.

VSI Crusher

Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) crushers are used to produce finely crushed materials and shaped aggregates.

VSI Crusher Components
  • Rotor: Accelerates material to high speeds.

  • Anvil: Stationary part against which material is crushed.

  • Chamber: Where the material is crushed and shaped.

Crushing Process
  • Feed: Material from the cone crusher is fed into the VSI crusher.

  • Acceleration: The rotor accelerates the material to high speeds.

  • Impact: Material is thrown against the anvil and crushed.

  • Shaping: The VSI crusher shapes the material into finer particles.

  • Discharge: Finished material is discharged onto a conveyor belt.

Vibrating Screen

The plant includes a 4-deck vibrating screen, which sorts crushed material into different size fractions.

Screening Process
  • Feed: Material is fed onto the vibrating screen.

  • Vibration: The screen vibrates, sorting material into different sizes.

  • Discharge: Sorted material is discharged onto different conveyors.

Conveyors

The plant is equipped with 7-9 conveyors of adequate lengths to transport materials between different sections of the plant and to stockpile finished products.

Mobility and Power

The plant is mounted on 3 heavy-duty chassis with pneumatic wheels, allowing it to be towed by a truck to different sites. It requires a suitable diesel generating set to power the electric motors, control panels, and other components of the plant.

In summary, the mobile crushing plant operates by feeding raw materials into a hopper, crushing them through a series of crushers (jaw, cone, VSI), sorting them with a vibrating screen, and transporting the final products via conveyors. The plant's mobility and self-contained power source make it suitable for use in various locations.

FAQ

Questions about the crusher

How do I choose between using a Jaw Crusher and a Cone Crusher for my application?

The choice depends on the material type, feed size, and desired product size. Jaw crushers are typically used for primary crushing of large and hard materials, while cone crushers are used for secondary crushing to produce smaller, more uniform products.
