How does the crusher work?

Feed Hopper: Raw coal enters the top of the crusher through a hopper or vibratory feeder. The feeder distributes the material over the entire length of the rolls for uniform crushing.
Roll Crusher Components:
Toothed Rolls: Two counter-rotating toothed rolls crush the incoming feed. The rolls are mounted on heavy duty steel shafts. The crushing process occurs between the rotating rolls and the adjustable crushing plate.
Crushing Plate: This is an adjustable gap plate where the material is crushed between the rolls and the curved crushing plate. It mainly serves the purpose of reducing the size of the material.
Crushing Process:
Initial Feed: Raw coal is fed into the crushing chamber between the two rolls and is crushed by being squeezed and sheared between the rolls.
Crushing Action: The teeth on the rolls interact with the coal, breaking it down to a predetermined product size. The rolls rotate towards each other, pulling the material into the gap between them to crush and size it.
Adjustable Gap: The gap between the rolls can be adjusted to control the product size and quality.
Discharge:
Product Size: Once the material reaches the desired size, it passes through the adjustable gap and is discharged from the crusher.
Discharge Chute: The crushed product typically exits through a discharge chute at the bottom of the crusher, where it can be directed onto a conveyor belt, into a bin, or other processing equipment.
This process ensures efficient crushing of coal or similar materials by using compressive and shear forces between the rolls and the crushing plate.
